Vac & Dash 1-A & 2-A Midwest Regional Results
2-A Midwest Regional at Dan Nicholas Park in Salisbury.
Unofficial results as there was a scoring controversy at the meet. Different results were announced at race. Below results are from NC Runners. Also, slick bridges caused a few runners to fall. Official results will be announced Monday evening. If anything changes, I'll repost it.
Advancing To State from 2-A Midwest Region:
Boys teams: Central Davidson 63, Cuthbertson 117, West Stokes 119, Surry Central 129
Boys Individuals: Chase Miller Wilkes Central (16:22-1), Nick Summers Salisbury (16:40-2nd),
Philip Tonseth Salisbury (16:57-3rd), Aaron Combs Starmount (17:02-4th), Matt Poplin West Stanly (17:26-9th)
Girls teams: West Stokes 80, Salisbury 116, West Stanly 124, West Davidson 128
Individuals: Laney Brouder West Wilkes (19:56-1st), Leah Rivas South Stokes (21:04-6th),
Micalyne Zimmerman Berry Academy (21:06-7th), Aly Brenner Central Davidson (21:12-8th)
Holli Chandler North Stanly - (21:23-9th)
1-A Midwest Regional at Beeson Park in Kernersville, NC. Bishop McGuinness was the host.
Exciting race on a muddy course at Beeson Park in Kernersville for 1-A Midwest Regional. Most of the top runners fell at least once. South Stanly's Sean Kluttz pulls ahead of Mt. Airy's Matus Kriska with a 1/4 mile to go, with Gray Stone's Dalton Wally in the chase. Kriska fought back and edged Kluttz 17:04-17:05. Wally finished 3rd in 17:17.

Jordan Phillips of Lake Norman Charter and Brian Walls of Central Chatem battled it out for 4th & 5th. place. Walls overtook Phillips 17:33 - 17:38. Erik Foran 17:42 of Lake Norman Charter took 6th. South's Alex Thompson (17:42) and Gray Stone's Kaleb Medlin (17:43) placed 7th & 8th.

1-A Midwest Region Girls Race
The South Girls prepare for the race sporting their new uniforms purchased at the Vac & Dash Screen Printing Division.

Gray Stone's top runner & Yadkin Valley Conference Champ, Hunter Latimer twisted her ankle 18 hours before Regionals on an easy practice run. She braced up her ankle, fell hard during the race, got up and gutted it out for an 8th place finish and spot on the All-Region Team.
Carol Blankenship of East Wilkes looked like she was running with ease as she cruised to victory with a time of 19:14. Meredith Bennett led Bishop McGuinness to the 1A Mid-West team title with her 20:32 second place finish. Gray Stone's Janna Featherstone (9th-21:47) joined teammates Amber Watkins (21:16-4th), Hunter Latimer (8th-21:39) on the All-Region Squad. In a very competitive race, Bishop took the region with 61 followed by Gray Stone's 62 and Lake Norman Charter's 72.

Individuals: Carol Blankenship East Wilkes (19:14-1st), Jodie Lemons North Stokes (20:54-3rd), Carrie Blankenship East Wilkes (21:37-6th), Erin Thompson South Stanly (22:33-12th) Sarina Russo Mount Airy (22:55-15th)
Gray Stone Girls, 1A Midwest Region Runner-up. This will be their first trip to State as a team.
